ORANGE PEEL – THE HEART’S ASSOCIATE THAT FIGHTS CANCER!

Oranges are one of the most popular fruit that we use every day. However, there are a lot of people that didn’t know you can eat the peel and it’s probably the healthiest part of the fruit. The peels from citrus fruits are rich in flavonoids and other phytochemicals. Flavonoids are antioxidant compounds that are found in fruits and vegetables and are known for their role to help chronic diseases. For comparison – the orange’s peel contains 136mg vitamin C, whereas the whole orange contains 71mg vitamin C. The orange’s peel also contains great amounts of calcium, copper, magnesium, vitamin A, folates, and other dietary fibers.

Orange peel is good for the heart

The peel is rich in hesperidin, a flavonoid which lowers the
high blood pressure and the cholesterol. In addition, it has anti-inflammatory
properties. Men that are overweight, who consume hesperidin from oranges
significantly lower their diastolic blood pressure. This can be a more efficient
cure than any medication.

Orange peel helps with some types of cancer

The flavonoids in the orange’s peel have a potential to
inhibit the protein RLIP76 which is connected with cancer and fatness. Researches
are still young, but it is believed that the orange’s peel can inhibit or lower
the expression of RLIP76 and that has great implications on chronic diseases. The
flavonoids in the orange have anti-cancerous properties. It inhibits the cancer
genesis with mechanisms such as blockading the cascade of metastasis, inhibiting
the cancer cells’ mobility in the circulatory systems. A great number of
evidence shows that flavonoids in a citrus’ peel have a great specter of efficient
biological activities.

Orange peel has anti-allergen and anti-inflammatory
properties

The compounds in orange peel can stop the release of histamine which makes other compounds potentially anti-allergen. In addition, the peel can also help cleanse the lungs, and the high levels of vitamin V are useful for the immune system. This can help you fight respiratory diseases such as cold and flu.
